Mr. Gikunda is the senior associate and team leader. He has a wealth of experience in the design and management of strategic communication campaigns for large and small enterprises. He also has a lot of experience in media management, particularly broadcast media management having served in senior management positions at KTN, a television company operated by a subsidiary company of The Standard Media Group, Kiss Television, a company operated by Radio Africa Group, and as a senior consultant for Citizen Television ran by Royal Media Services and WBS, a leading television company in Uganda. He has also worked with an international NGO, based in Nairobi with operations in Uganda, Tanzania, Congo Kinshasa and Congo Brazzaville as well as Burundi. He has served as a senior UN consultant advising the Independent Elections Commission in Afghanistan on overall communication.


A Merit Prize winner of the Journalist of the Year Awards, 2000, and the Freedom Forum Journalist-in-Residence Program Award, 1997, Dr. George more than nine years of award-winning practical journalism experience in Kenya, South Africa and United States. He has excellent knowledge of the media industry gained from practical journalism experience, and researching the operations of media organizations and their use by various actors including government, civil society and ‘ordinary’ people. He has worked in senior positions for companies and institutions such as The Standard Group, University of Nairobi, The Media Institute, Washington Times and many others.


With over 15 years experience in the media industry, Mukiebe brings a deep perspective and understanding of our clients, particularly those operating in the East and Central African markets. During her career she has worked with traditional media environments, such as The Standard Group (incorporating The Standard Newspapers and KTN TV) and The People. Mukiebe has also worked with the European Union Election Observation Mission as an assistant press officer twice, in 2007 and 2013 Kenya’s General Election. Her role within these organizations has enabled her to work extensively across the country.


Mr. Daniel Kabira is the team’s Marketing Director. He has worked for Radio Africa Group (Classic FM, Kiss FM and TV, Radio Jambo, X Fm and the Star) for 13 years, doing sales and marketing. He has also done sales and marketing for K24, for 2 years. This has given him vast knowledge and experience in the marketing sector


Mr. Hongo is the team’s Programmes Manager. He has over a decade of progressive responsible professional experience in development communications and NGO management as well as experience in development and relief programmes. His key skills include content development for media (audio, video, general ICT), community media engagement (including outreach programme development and management), project documentation, project and organizational management, fundraising and related communication activities, proposal development and writing, donor and partner relationship management. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Sociology, Political Science and Literature.
